The Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust is a proud owner of a twenty three year old helicopter that has stood the very test of time and inexhaustibly served the local citizens. It recently flew a successful and record twenty two thousand missions. The helicopter has all the while proved to be invaluable with its service and saved lives which otherwise would have definitely been lost.

The ambulance has on an average tended to about one thousand flying missions every year. The record 22000th mission was airlifting a thirty year old woman and taking her off to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro from Penzance in a matter of ten minutes.
This against the time of about one hour the journey would have taken otherwise had they opted for a land route. A good portion of the people the chopper has airlifted over the past years have been severe cases where the damage might have been more serious had it not been for the quick time airlifting services of the Cornalw air ambulance.
The trust’s chief executive Paula Martin knew that the milestone number of 22000 would happen any time soon even as he kept in close touch with the crew and control room.
The trust in the mean time is looking at generating at least more than £1.5m in charity every year. The trust is a registered charity which has definitely proved to be more then handy with its helicopter services that have saved many, many lives.
