According to the investigations the other directors were totally unaware of the scam. None of the two companies had a clear idea of their duties to be followed or laws to be upheld for that matter. Another interesting thing to come out of the commission inquiry was the fact that both the companies were actually also working on a subcontract. South Pacific Air Ambulance had opted for sub-contract prices from CareFlight when their own hired plane was not available in many an instances.
