What happened even as the chopper passed a playing field was that its door opened and many equipment including medical kits and bottles fell hitting a twenty four year old man in the head who fell unconscious. Luckily enough he was immediately treated by paramedics and recovered well within a couple of days.

The bikers group annually embarks on a long journey covering up to 500 miles, gathering the entire amount for the air ambulance services. They cover many areas extensively which include outer edges of Tyne and Wear, North Yorkshire, Teesside, County Durham, Northumberland and Cumbria.
The Boundary 500 Motorcycle Group also gathers and raises funds for the Zoë’s Baby Hospice apart from the GNAAS. The annual motorcycle Santa Ride is next on the cards even as the bikers go on a twenty two miles journey covering Stockton, Middlesbrough and Redcar, even as the journey wraps up at Kirkleatham Hall. Their Air Angels campaign has definitely proved to be a fruitful affair even as the bikers are looking at touching the £1million mark.

Another interesting thing to come out of the commission inquiry was the fact that both the companies were actually also working on a subcontract. South Pacific Air Ambulance had opted for sub-contract prices from CareFlight when their own hired plane was not available in many an instances.
